Does the driving instruction permit instructor have to take a theory test?

No. An instructor with a driving instruction permit is not required to take a theory test.

A driving instruction permit can be granted when

  • The student has reached the required age.
  • The teacher is at least 25 years old.
  • The teacher has held a driver’s license corresponding to the class being taught for at least five years.
  • The teacher is not under a driving ban or temporary driving ban.
  • The teacher is personally suitable for the teaching task. The suitability assessment is conducted by Traficom based on information available from official registers.
